Self-contained animated texts are standalone animations that combine text and image. Some, like Madness Clings, fuse text onto imagery; others, like Frank Luntz and the Orwellian Paradigm, animate text itself in a graphical configuration; others, like Blake Unbound, animate text and image separately; while others still, like Text Organism: Homage to Milton Glaser, transform text into imagery. Through melding text and image I came to develop the text loop, best illustrated by Nigger Inside, where a short literary text poetically turns in on itself. All my self-contained animated texts require a high-speed Internet connection and run best using Firefox as your browser.
