Fragmented animated texts are sets of thematically related animations combining text and image. Superficially, they can be compared to novels broken down into chapters, but that doesn't quite capture what I have in mind, as most novels possess plots and characters. Here theme is everything, so a better analogy might be collections of poems along the same theme. Although I am a computer animator, my artistic ambitions are far closer to literature than video or cinema. My roots are literary. I learned computer animation because I felt a deep need to expand in a visual direction. Nevertheless, my vision remains a poetic one, akin to William Blake's melding of text and image in his illuminated texts.
