After I animated a statement generally attributed to Alfred Korzybski, Lance Strate wrote in his blog that Bruce Kodish, an expert on Korzybski, indicated Korzybski never actually made the statement, even if he probably said something quite similar. Then Laurie Spiegel pointed out that the supposed Korzybski remark was reminiscent of the opening line of the Tao Te Ching by Laozi, referring to "the name that can be named." In turn, this brought to mind some lines of poetry by Rumi left in the comment box of my MySpace page by Garden of Silence. Thus I created If You Could?, my latest animated text.
